It is essential to analyze the logs to troubleshoot any issue. The traffic
passing through the firewall can be allowed or blocked as defined in the
rules. Engineers first look into the logs as the first point of
troubleshooting to get an overall idea about the traffic flow.
In this article let's find out how to find the logs on ASA using ASDM.
Click monitoring
Click logging
Then you have two options to select. Real-Time Log Viewer and
Log buffer. If you wish to get the real time logs, click
Real-Time log viewer, select the logging level, set the
buffer limit and click view. Then a new window will be popped where you
can filter based on different parameters like source IP, Destination IP.
To view previously captured events, select the Log Buffer set the
logging level and click view. Then a new window will be popped up where
it can be filtered using different parameters as mentioned above.
